Doesn’t get better than malmsteen.

These are always fun threads. Thanks for posting.
My tops:
1. Steve Vai - the Satriani protege, best all time.
2. Hendrix - it’s amazing how many “modern” songs I hear in his recordings.
3. Stevie Ray Vaughn - ...he should still be here.
Some of the guys like James Hetfield, Keith Richards, George Harrison should NOT be on the list. There are 10,000 teenagers that can play better than them RIGHT NOW.
Oh, and I agree with the other poster that ALVIN LEE from Ten Years After should be on the list somewhere, plus, I’m fine with Satch at # 5, fwiw.
13. David Gilmour
I believe this should be a bit higher on the list
Vince Gill
Robert Cray
Alvin Lee
Brad Paisley
Not a lot of love for country players. I have seen all of the above. I have also seen Clapton, Alex Lifeson, BB King, Al Dimeola, Jeff Beck , Pete Townsend and Carlos Santanna.
Clapton, Beck, Gill, Cray and Lee are the best.
George Benson, Earl Klugh, Larry Carlton, Lee Ritenour
Preposterous order in the top 10. Just ridiculous.
Steve Howe at # 61? Any ‘greatest guitarists’ poll without him in the top 5 is bogus.
Lifeson and Angus too high, Jerry Cantrell too low.
other than that not a bad list
Missed one. Dimebag Darrell?
Really?
Yngwie at #43, no mention of Randy Rhodes?
I don’t buy it.
EVH didn’t really do anything spectacular after 1984.
Eric Clapton is not god, according to those who voted...
No Dick Dale or Link Wray or Davie Allen.
What the f*** is a Buckethead?

Travis Wammack (like a teenaged Link, also Muscle Shoals session musician and band leader for Little Richard) - Robert Plant and Jimmy Page were fans:

Guitar Wolf (from Japan) would kick Buckethead’s ass.

What’s with this list? I mean, there’s not even Freddy King.

17. John Petrucci - WOOT!
No Ernie Isley? “Who’s That Lady” is in my Top Ten list of solos.
Worthless.
Behind Dicky Betts and Warren Haynes?
Someone who knows absolutely nothing about guitar playing piled up this putrid heap of manure.
Good grief...
