I’ve hunted for over 50 years....I used to hunt bobcats for their hides to sell...
Now I believe in only hunting an animal that you will eat.
No exceptions for animals that would eat you, your family, your livestock or your pets? No exception for animals that take food out of your mouth (IIRC, a wolf eats the equivalent of 16 deer per year).
I beleive that we should try to be as humane as possible when hunting. If you use traps you should check them often. If you hunt with a gun or bow, you need to do your very best to track and bag any animal you shoot. Animals, even wolves, deserver humane treatment, even if they don't understand quid pro quo
