I hear ya. Many states suffer from this. Illinois has Chicago, Pennsylvania has Philly, etc. If you are driving through almost every state most sections will be Republican/conservative, unfortunately the urban areas all tend to be collectivist to some degree or another - and that is where the majority of the people live.
I know I have seen state break downs, but this link gives a pretty good view of how few “liberal” areas there really are.
