Art Garfunkel was "Jerry" in the rock group Tom & Jerry, whose single Hey! Schoolgirl charted late in the year 1957.

On that site is the song, Anji, that Paul Simon performs with us brother, Bob. Didn't know he had a brother. Bob's quite accomplished at guitar as well.

Thanks!

Art and Paul should have sued.

Art Podell and Paul Potash, that is.

Simon was Jerry not Art. Several things say it was Paul who was Jerry. One is WIKI history showing Simon bio using the last name of a girlfriend. Another is a WIKI search of their last song that is more to the point. The last song they recorded before their break up the day before it actually was "The only living boy in New York".

It starts out "Tom get your plane ride on time. I know you'll part will go fine. Fly down to Mexico da do da da do da here I am the only living boy in New York." Art was leaving to go play a part in a movie trying to launch an acting career in Catch 22.

I've read an account where there were actually many uncredited back ground voices in that song including Bob Dylan.
