My Mother’s doctor told her straight out that as she reaches age 80 there will be restrictions on the care they will be allowed to do for her. Surgeries and other testing will just not be covered after a certain age. The Doctor was very upset telling her this and said she might quit medicine because so many of her patients are elderly and she can’t face just allowing them to die.
I’ve been told that I need to have my knees replaced before 2014 because Obamacare will not approve it because of my BMI. So, I have a choice: starve to death, or be crippled. Yes, my doctor was upset about it too.
There should be no restrictions to her care but what her own health will allow. I am glad her doctor was so honest.
