I bought a handful of small 9 LED flashlights from Tractor Supply for a couple of bucks each. Metal barrel, bright as heck, 3 AAA batteries lasts for a LONG time. I may get some more, they are just too handy. They are about the size of a roll of quarters.

I would recommend an LED headlamp... they are indispensable when you have to cook or wash dishes in the dark. I also use it when I walk the dog at night so I can keep my hands free for bagging poop. I bought a fancy Petzl headlamp, but it’s really hard to change out the batteries - you need a tool to pop the batteries out. I’ve got another that is just a Coleman cheapo that came as a set with a little handheld flashlight and the batteries are much easier to change. It works just as well as the Petzl, but was half the price and doesn’t have the fancy strobe feature or tilt on it. I keep the Petzl in my car; it would come in handy if I ever had to change a tire at night.

I recently purchased this flashlight and it rocks. http://www.ebay.com/itm/150730542085?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 Very bright white light. Rechargeable battery and battery charger must be purchased separately. Charger is like $2. I don’t remember the cost of the batteries, but there are two to a package and I got them on Amazon. This is nice because you can always have a backup charged and ready to go. Another nice thing is it is 1” in diameter and can be attached to a shotgun with the proper hardware. Has bright, med, low, strobe and SOS ‘patterns’. Did I mention it has a very bright, white light? Hope this helps.
