..
I just read that in a Wilkie Collins short story. Before that, I didn't know why it was "Boxing Day."
The rain might clear off this afternoon. If it doesn't, we'll put off after-Christmas shopping until tomorrow.
I thought Boxing Day was the days wives who got a Wonder Mop for Christmas beat their husbands ;^)
Low clouds and ugly stuff out there, this morning, but at least there is light.
Maybe some rain will hit us a little later. Since we are in the SE corner of the valley, a lot of “weather” misses us by going NE. We are hotter in the summer than Vegas and colder in the winter.
SHHHH!!! don’t give any ideas away. (looks around nervously)
LOL! Bryan emailed me that link and three others. Thank you for being so thoughtful, Joe, my dear friend.
You can see that the Mare’s Leg doesn’t kick much.
It’s snowing heavily here today, we may get up to 13”, and we can’t see across the cornfield, so I can’t shoot my new pistol (Firearm, Tax-Chick! Firearm!).
We’re housebound for the duration, and then Bryan has to plow the driveway.
DC and I have been theorising something similar.
It would be linear amplified magnetically contained plasma discharge, but the wattage is uncertain.
And pretty much anywhere the Romans went.
Dormouse, it's what's for dinner.
Magnetically contained plasma discharge: Large tubular magnetic source with pulsed switched fields and a copper plated shaped charge.Or a gas supply injected through a high voltage arc passed between two electrodes in an Oxygen free environment.
Linear amplified: Now this i need to hear about. Are we amplifying the plasma discharge or the magnetic field?
Warning: Sci fi
Think of it as a bastard offspring of an unfortunate linear induction motor mated to a drunken stepped transformer that molested a railgun on psychotropic medications.
At least that is the starting point theory.
For some firms, it’s on order and the first shipment’s ETA is 02/25/2025.
Why would you need to amplify the mag field? It’s only there for containment and modulating the outlet aperture.
I see were youre coming from here.
An Aluminium backed depleted uranium slug launched in to the breach by compressed air and zotted up the rear by a Laser.
The rest is a symphony of magnetic effect for acceleration and thermal amplification caused by the magnetic field interacting with the plasmaised Aluminium.
Hmmm
Could work.
Crowbar has finally consented to go out in a quilted parka. It took awhile.
LOL! Piper took herself out eventually, and now she’s sleeping on a blanket in front of the fake fire. Kathleen went to bed. I’m going to consolidate leftovers into fewer and smaller containers and then wash dishes.
Mr. Sg’s after-lunch family gathering stroll is usually to the nearest bar (and they don’t drink during the year).
Hadda look up boxing day. Thanks for the education! (Thought it was fisticuffs, boxing up gift items to return to stores, or combination thereof.)
More subtle than a rocket powered chainsaw sporting crowbar.
But not by much.
Of course, there’s other ways to wring destruction out of it.
A very misleading name isn't it.Had me fooled for years too.
Hope all going well for you this day. :)
Today has been um 'entertaining'. Cough.
What is it used for?
Funny—we were just looking at rifle-powered bows that shoot sabres a few days ago. Guess it’s in the air or water or sumpin.
