My guess is that we will end up like the U.S. in “One Second
After”.

I could not finish reading it. My son developed Type 1
diabetes while I was reading. He is ten years old.

...It was just too scary to continue.

It took me about 6 months before I could get the courage to read One Second After...turns out it was a great book. Scary, but good.
Sorry about your son. That book obviously made you much more aware of the seriousness of his condition. Pray that things don’t go the way of that book, and pray for progress from the medical side of this disease. There IS hope on the horizon.
Again, sorry for your son’s condition.
