We don't actually know that it was her. Compare a picture of Dunham taken about 1960 with one taken about 1970 and it's hard to think that she ever looked like the woman in those photos.
Any voter who's still undecided isn't likely to be convinced to vote against Obama by these comments. Insulting his mom is more likely to stir up sympathy for the wretch.
