No. Just ask the Giants about the call in the end zone last year the Boss caught for a TD that was ruled out if bounds.

And that call wasn’t from replacement refs.

The problem is that there is not much of a way to compromise. It’s not like one side wants a 3% raise and the other wants 5%. The ref are either going to get a defined benefits plan or not.

Pensions are not the only issue in the dispute. I know that libs want us all to believe that but they are not. An even bigger issue for the ref’s union is the scorecard and its new proposal. The NFL wants to hire 20 new refs to replace older ones when it is time and to have a few in reserve. The reason for the reserve? They want to bench those refs who miss a certain number of calls over a given period of time. So, in similar fashion to the teacher’s unions, the ref’s union wants no accountablility. That is the REAL main issue here.

Is it odd that the players’ union is not honoring the strike?

The Vegas line is now being affected by the potential for blown calls.

No, but I assume that is a rhetorical question. In my opinion and based upon the official game rules I have seen, the play was called correctly as a simultaneous catch. This is not to say that much of the replacement officiating hasn’t been atrocious. The problem with that play was the uncalled pass interference by the Seahawks (though it is not often called in Hail Mary situations). In addition, the DB for Green Bay royally screwed up when he tried to intercept the ball in the end zone as opposed to batting it away like he is supposed to do. In any case, this is merely my opinion. In the eyes of many, I am probably wrong.

Last I checked the NFL discouraged gambling and they would not be beholden to the “vegas line”.
