This could end up being the thread of the year.

Personal opinion:
It's never too late to turn back to God, either as a person or as a nation. Hence I do not think it too late for the United States.

HOWEVER, I do not think the nation will actually do so. In what may have been the defining moment for our nation, the Democrat Party has even denied God three times.

Here is where you and I may differ: I believe the Holy Spirit has put a “message” in the heart of God's sheep. That message is one of enormous impending trouble. Millions of Americans have “heard” it. It is not in the form of words, but in the form of a powerful sense of unease. We feel compelled to “do something”, even though we do not know exactly what that “something” might be.

Hence some of us have become “preppers”. Whether that will do any good or not is currently unknown. But I am unwilling to “party on” while the Titanic sinks. I'm trying to find enough stuff that floats to strap together a life raft for me and my family.

I can also say with certainty that the large majority of “preppers” are Christians with the same sense of dread that I have. Perhaps when this is over we will look back and realize the result was a separation of the wheat from the chaff. Or perhaps not. But since I feel compelled to “do something”, I prep as best I can.

Back in the dark days before the internet I read an article (in ink on actual dead tree paper!) titled something like "The Prayer That Is Always Answered".

The author started out by saying this prayer was recorded as having been made only a few times in the Bible.

Each time it was answered instantly and decisively by God.

I wish I could remember the Biblical citations, or find the article.

Essentially there were (as best as I can recall the elements) the following points:

• The prayer was at a time of extreme existential threat
• The threat comes from non-God of Abraham believers
• The prayer acknowledges that we (Israel?) have drifted away from God
• The prayer points out that we have started the process of cleaving to God and His commandments
• The prayer point out that or enemies knows of our attempt to get right with God

Then the kicker:

• If God allows us to be destroyed just as were are coming back to Him, the rest of the world will look at this and decide that he isn't such a great God who won't protect His own chosen people even when they are coming back to Him, and is therefore unworthy of any respect or worship
• If on the other hand, God intercedes on behalf of His people, who by any objective measure have no hope of survival, the world will marvel at His power and authority.

The prayer was INVARIABLY answered with the swift destruction and rout of the enemy, often before the battle can even be engaged.

You are right Voltage I’ve talked to hundreds of preppers over the last two years and many people who like me try and provide guidance to those who prep or are starting to and the one comment I hear the most is that they have a ‘feeling’. These people are from all social, education and financial backgrounds. I say listen to that little voice in the back of your head, because there’s a good chance it knows what its’ talking about or as the Bible says:

A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.
NIV Proverbs 22:3

For those of you who haven’t started already it’s time to prepare almost past time maybe. You needed to be stocking up on food guns, ammo, basic household supplies like soap, papergoods, cleaning supplies, good sturdy clothes including extra socks, underwear and extra shoes and boots, a extra couple changes of oil and filters for your car, tools, things you buy everyday start buying two and put one up.

As the LDS say “When the emergency is upon us the time for preparedness has past.”

Lastly this for the doubters and the scoffers.

“There is no greater disaster than to underestimate danger.

Underestimation can be fatal.”

I say do not give up all hope:
