My old Shorthair Pointer would bring cats and kittens home all of the time. She would find the dead our dying in the street and take them into the barn to try and nurse them back to health. Of course we would find them and throw them in the garbage and she would walk with us to the can.
She just absolutely loved kittens and the one time we brought one home she claimed it a nursed it. We could never figure it out.
Your Pointer was a fabulous dog! I guess it is a mothering instinct and she sensed the kitten needed help. Great dog!
the only problem for me is that the woman said the kitten was 2 inches long....not possible...
