One of the base tactics of a campaign in panic is to do it's best to use the "bandwagon" technique. Marching orders have been given to all the pollsters (minus Ras) to skew this thing so much that it sways the bandwaggoners.
I remember reading that this works pretty well for about 1 - 2% of the brain dead sheeple faction electorate.
