Word For The Day, Monday, 9/24/12
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
noisome; adj.
1. offensive or disgusting, as an odor. 2. harmful or injurious to health; noxious. Synonyms 1. fetid, putrid, rotten, stinking, mephitic.
Etymology: b>1382, "harmful, noxious," from noye "harm, misfortune," shortened form of anoi "annoyance" (from O.Fr. anoier, see annoy) + -some. Meaning "bad-smelling" first recorded 1577.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Here is my example with WFTD.
The film about the noisome OWS movement did well this weekend, which is good to hear.

Good morning!
Please pardon my pre-caffeine hip-shot response....

Where else can you legally belong to a group of people are more interested in identifying with the Tingly Feeling in their shorts rather than recognizing the economic disaster that their "Dear Leader" has left us with....Pardon my noisome rant...
I'm not feeling to well today...maybe on November 6th I'll recover.
A+++ How can someone with such absymal ratings still be on the air???
A+++ we are as noisy as we wanna be!
Yesterday, Matthews challenged the panel to “tell me something I don’t know.” This left open practically everything in the world, except for “Das Kapital” and “Rules for Radicals.”
A+++ everywhere i went this weekend, people were overwrought at the prospect of 4 more years of this abomination!
LMAO!
Yesterday morning, I got up early to watch a rerun of ESPN College Football Gameday. In the course of 45 minutes or so, they showed the same NOISOME Obama campaign ad THREE TIMES. I muted the set the first two, and had to restrain myself from throwing the remote through the TV screen on the third ad.
Obama, divisive and noisome
Yet the libs find him clever and joysome
And though rumors abound
Nothing concrete was found
By the mainstream, that Barry likes boys some
(Not that there’s anything wrong with that.)
Ron Burgundy helpfully chimes in. Well, I could be wrong, but I believe diversity is an old, old wooden ship that was used during the Civil War era. His colleagues The zombies nod like professors kindergarten children in the faculty lounge classroom informed of the latest findings.
The fact that they’re overwrought is a good thing it means.... they.... are at least paying attention and will vote accordingly.
It will take a trainload of Lysol to cleanse the noisome stench of communism from the WH.
Governor Moonbeam Brown and his Lieutenant, former S.F. Mayor Newsom are the noisome hacks responsible for the sorry state of the California economy...
I turn down the volume of the ABCNNBCBS news between the radio hosts, because even traffic sounds are much less noisome.
As I was trying to catch a few more z-z-z-s this AM, I heard someone on TV saying that the real problem with the attacks in Bengazi was that they occurred on 9/11. I couldn’t sit up fast enough to catch who the noisome radical was, but that waa the end of my snooze. How about the REAL problem being that they murdered the Ambassador and his friends and burned the consulate?
