I could be three miles away and still hear my mom yell my name for supper! I couldn't have been much more than maybe 5 or 6!

Those times were so simple and easy. Common Sense prevailed...

I never supervised my children’s outdoor play but most everyone in the neighborhood had kids and all played mom to any of them if it was needed, including sending them home if they misbehaved or passing out bandages if needed. We also had two Black labs and one of them stayed with each child all the time. Kids used to really get upset when they were trying to play ball and one of the dogs would take the ball and run home with it.

In this day and age I would probably be labeled an unfit mother.

my mom kicked us out of the house after school and told us not to come back inside until it was dark.

LOL.

I’m glad I was a kid in the 70’s and 80’s
