As someone who grew up in tough circumstances, I know that being on public assistance is not a spot that anyone wants to be in.

Bovine squat. Many do. Not all, but a lot. Romney somewhat overstated it when he said anyone who gets money from the government is automatically Democrat. 10% of the population are on Social Security, and worked all their life to get it. A lot of them are conservatives, and understand it won't be there unless we fix it. And a lot of people on unemployment would rather have a job. But just because Romney overstated it is no reason for Brown to overstate the opposite.
