You can’t just make up words and call them a direct quote.
It is called lying, and when you try to send conservatives out to use them in conversation and be humiliated when they are proven to be false, then you are something truly nasty.
I totally agree. It makes conservatives look stupid if you use a false quote like this - with actual quotation marks around it, which is dead wrong. From all indications, the actual quote was "with them" rather than "with the Muslims," leaving you to figure out who "them" is by looking at the statement in context. No doubt it is subject to interpretation, and could easily be argued to be "Arab and Pakistani Americans" rather than the generic "Muslims."
That being said, I have no doubt that he stands with Muslims in his own mind and belief system, simply based upon his many statements and actions. These also indicate that he has a preference for Islam over Christianity from a cultural and political standpoint, although he's obviously a God-less man.
