Why did the White House take so long to disavow the Cairo Embassy statement?
me

Posted on 09/12/2012 6:57:08 AM PDT by nuconvert

As near as I can tell, the original statement released by the U.S. embassy in Cairo, " U.S. Embassy Condemns Religious Encitement", wasn't disclaimed for at least 5hrs.

Why???

Maybe they were sympathetic to the feelings expressed.

I think it was dangled out as bait and Romney and others took it.

If the White House had wanted to correct the story, they could have done so within 20 mins of it being posted.

The phoney outrage against Romney & others now is what Obama's handlers were hoping would happen.

IMHO

Ameican people’s reaction drove them to do it.

Thank God for the internet.

Everything they do is calculated and political. Everything.

The embassy wouldn’t make a statement without approval

It’s obvious they were sympathetic to it. Read the “disclaimer” - it is nothing more than a rephrasing of the original embassy message. they hope hat by adding more syllables to the statement and moving the words around a bit, that we “primitive knuckledraggers” won’t notice they are saying the same thing.

Maybe they were sympathetic to the feelings expressed.

That's what I think. I don't think it really goes any deeper than that.

They meant it when they said it. Citizens' negative reactions to the statement took some time before accelerating as their views were disseminated.

Also, focus groups take a few hours to assemble and evaluate.

I usually follow things pretty closely, but I was caught totally off-guard on this whole thing until this morning. The most I knew when I woke up was about the storming in Egypt and raising of the black flag.

The MSM is going to attempt to twist this thing beyond comprehension to try to save their dear leader. They are counting on people being so confused they give up trying to understand what happened.

Yes, but yet we are told Romney/Ryan are “inexperienced in foreign affairs”.

Well, just what the hell was Obama experienced in? Community organizing? Or did his time voting “present” in the Illinois legislature give him some special insight into foreign policy? Or, wasn’t this supposed to be Joe Biden’s specialty?

“Hey Hillary, if that phone rings at 3AM, you wanna get it? I’ve got an early tee time.”

Because they are utterly incompetent. Their staffs are picked for being committed followers more than anything else.
This also explains so much.
He says the 9/11 morning “pimp the limp” radio interview was prerecorded a day or 2 before. Ok, fine. Your staff giving ONE dj in America cannot ensure it doesnlt play on 9/11 or that if it will, you discuss something other than sports and music?

It explains having Russian Navy ships as the backdrop to the salute to veterans in Obamas democrat convention.

And now, he has to trail along and say that his position is the exact opposite of his ambassadors.

It all points to complete dissarray and lack of leadership. America is drifting now. He was never competent to run a government in an executive position.

Take a good look people. This is J.C. Stevens, the slain ambassador, who was just appointed to the position in June.

The senior guy he replaced was packed off to Ghana at the time. Like Brain Terry, he, a junior foreign service officer and two U.S. Marines slain with him were just pawns in a giant Obama game to downsize America's influence in the world.

“Ameican people’s reaction drove them to do it.”

The negative response was immediate, yet they let it sit out there for hours & hours.
That was intentional.

I read a funny quip on here, yesterday. Something like...”The phone is ringing at 3am....but Barry doesn’t get up until 8.”

I think as a presidential candidate, Romney has every right to comment on the situation. He made his position clear when he visited Israel. He took the side of our ally. Obama didn’t.

She's busy thanking the Libyans for stopping the attack and taking the bodies to the hospital. (Yes I'm serious)

Yes. They were sympathtic to it, but the negative response was immediately on tv, radio, and even in the press.

They could have clarified that the statement was made independently by the embassy and said that an official statement would be released soon. In fact. I think everyone was waiting for them to do that because no one could believe that this was going to be their official statement.

They didn’t clarify it all for hours & hours.

Of course he does. But he also needs to be careful not to be caught in a trap.
