My feelings?

My blood boils every time I see a muslim.

Why are they living here? Why are they ALLOWED to live here?

I wish Bush would have waited for Ramadon and dropped the big one right on that black box in Mecca. Islam is a cancer on the planet.

Then, I know deep down, that many of these people, and yes, they are people, are trapped in a system they cannot escape easily, and are blinded by their own hate (as am I).

I actually know people who have escaped, and hear their stories of being rescused from that darkness.

So I do as MY God commands, and I pray for my enemies....

I was at home having just completed the breakfast dishes, after sending our 3 kids off to school an hour or so earlier. I couldn’t believe the horrific scenes I was watching on my TV.

I worried about my sister-in-law who worked in one of the WTC buildings and the thousands of co-workers she had. We were lucky. She was one of the thousands who crossed the Brooklyn Bridge on foot that day. She lost a few friends.

I worried about my cousin’s husband who worked in the Pentagon. He, too, survived, because happened to be in a different wing at the time the plane hit. He also lost friends.

Most of all, I thought about our country, and the world I had brought my children in to. My innocence was lost that day. I never really knew before that day that some people could hate other people so much...people that they never met, that they never knew. I still don’t understand that kind of hate, but now I know it’s there.

I used to fly our nation’s flag on national holidays and some other days when I felt like it. Since 9/11, the flag has been proudly displayed outside our home EVERY day, and has only been taken down (briefly) during high winds. It is an all-weather flag which we replace about once a year, and we keep a light on it during the night.

I loved it when people proudly flew their USA flags in the days after Sept. 11, but people took them down bit by bit. Not ours. It stays, because we are proud to be Americans, every day. We live in a beautiful country that was based on freedom and liberty. May God bless us and keep us in the palm of His hand.

God bless those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11 attacks. God bless those who loved and cared about them. God bless our great country, the United States of America!

Never forget September 11, 2001.

I had gotten off work at 4 that morning, so I was sound asleep when the attack started. My mom woke me up and I turned on the television just in time to see the second plane come in.

That evening, the whole family was going to get together for dinner to watch President Bush's address to the nation, so my dad and I went over to Walmart to get food. As we were walking across the parking lot, I happened to glance up and spotted a large aircraft flying high overhead. Since we are somewhat between Omaha and Washington DC, I've always wondered if that could have been Air Force One.

BTW, does anyone else remember the initial reports of car bombs going off in New York, Philadelphia, and Washington? These reports came in about the same time that the second tower came down, so they were light on details and nobody had any idea if the reports were real or not.
