Well, Omuslim has to protect his brothers you know.
Fox is currentlly having a nice tribute to the heroes of 9/11.
Tom, is there a list of all the FReepers lost on 9/11?
I still recall the video where at least one hit the ground behind the reporter and the audible sound that was heard.

That 5th photo down from the top is so horrible.
What hell it must have been that day we can only imagine.
Please use this thread to express your thoughts on 9/11- 11 years later... what you were that day when you heard we had been attacked.
I'm very interested to know your thoughts. .....anything you want to say.
Thank you for posting this.
Since I experienced watching the devastation and death that took place on that day, I somehow thought it was unnecessary to speak of 9/11 to ANYONE as though they didn’t know or understand the events of that day. I had a rude awakening when I asked my 4th grader this morning if he had ever hear of 9/11 and knew of what happened on that day.
He didn’t know anything about it. Not one thing.
This is my horrible mistake, and I quickly and thouroughly remedied that situation. I also wondered how many other parents of younger children have neglected to discuss this tragic point in our country’s history with their children because assumptions assumptions are made that “other people”—history teachers in schools???) are providing this critical information, or we think, perhaps, that they are protecting the children in some way, or the subject is simply too painful for the parents to talk about.
For crying out loud!!! A generation is being raised that doesn’t even know the reason for the military being in Afghanistan and Iraq! And, a generation is being raised that won’t know the facts about the perpetrators of 9/11 because the schools are either mum on the subject, orthe history books are crafted to rewrite the facts surrounding that day.
This revelation today underscores the dire need for me to speak frankly to my children about not only 9/11, but current events in general. I wont ever again assume they know any of the facts, or are being taught anything close to the truth in school.
Though there may have been (probably were) others that posted under their nick w/o anyone having known their real name.

Yes, that’s the theme of this post.
I fear 9/11 will be forgotten in time.
Obama and the Left are trying hard to erase it from history.
Thank you.
My feelings?
My blood boils every time I see a muslim.
Why are they living here? Why are they ALLOWED to live here?
I wish Bush would have waited for Ramadon and dropped the big one right on that black box in Mecca. Islam is a cancer on the planet.
Then, I know deep down, that many of these people, and yes, they are people, are trapped in a system they cannot escape easily, and are blinded by their own hate (as am I).
I actually know people who have escaped, and hear their stories of being rescused from that darkness.
So I do as MY God commands, and I pray for my enemies....
Prayers for all the innocents lost on that terrible day, and prayers for the brave men of the police and fire departments who went in harms way to save the innocents. I will always remember. I am still angry.
That pdf I linked above would be an illuminating window of what lots of us were thinking/doing in real time that day.
Same to you Slim. We are all fine.
I had to come check out FR today...I well remember reading all the live threads on 9/11/2001. The day is etched deeply in my mind as it is for so many Americans.
I was at home having just completed the breakfast dishes, after sending our 3 kids off to school an hour or so earlier. I couldn’t believe the horrific scenes I was watching on my TV.
I worried about my sister-in-law who worked in one of the WTC buildings and the thousands of co-workers she had. We were lucky. She was one of the thousands who crossed the Brooklyn Bridge on foot that day. She lost a few friends.
I worried about my cousin’s husband who worked in the Pentagon. He, too, survived, because happened to be in a different wing at the time the plane hit. He also lost friends.
Most of all, I thought about our country, and the world I had brought my children in to. My innocence was lost that day. I never really knew before that day that some people could hate other people so much...people that they never met, that they never knew. I still don’t understand that kind of hate, but now I know it’s there.
I used to fly our nation’s flag on national holidays and some other days when I felt like it. Since 9/11, the flag has been proudly displayed outside our home EVERY day, and has only been taken down (briefly) during high winds. It is an all-weather flag which we replace about once a year, and we keep a light on it during the night.
I loved it when people proudly flew their USA flags in the days after Sept. 11, but people took them down bit by bit. Not ours. It stays, because we are proud to be Americans, every day. We live in a beautiful country that was based on freedom and liberty. May God bless us and keep us in the palm of His hand.
God bless those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11 attacks. God bless those who loved and cared about them. God bless our great country, the United States of America!
Never forget September 11, 2001.

Very well done.
“...In Memory of FReeper BCM, Battalion Comander John Moran FDNY....”
And to the other 342 first responders that went with him that day.
NEVER FORGET!!!!!!!!!!!
That evening, the whole family was going to get together for dinner to watch President Bush's address to the nation, so my dad and I went over to Walmart to get food. As we were walking across the parking lot, I happened to glance up and spotted a large aircraft flying high overhead. Since we are somewhat between Omaha and Washington DC, I've always wondered if that could have been Air Force One.
BTW, does anyone else remember the initial reports of car bombs going off in New York, Philadelphia, and Washington? These reports came in about the same time that the second tower came down, so they were light on details and nobody had any idea if the reports were real or not.
feel pretty much the same way
Thank you for that moving account of that day
