-— How about the ten most damaging dude flicks?
They are all super macho guys who can do anything with the shrug of a shoulder, and when they walk into a room, all the women fall down.
That’s James Bond. Strangely enough, most men’s-men don’t seem very interested in women, or at least relationships (Clint, John Wayne, Stallone, Segal). Hmmmm... Is it chivalry, or something else?
Bruce Willis would be an exception. The original Die Hard is my favorite action movie. The relationship humanizes him. It’s a positive message, and not too cloying. It’s not the main reason for the movie’s appeal, but it’s a nice element.

“For a man on film, there is no greater moment than the instant when he suddenly gives up everything he knows or thought he ever wanted and starts whipping ass for love or principle. Action is romance for men. To me it’s the way men express love on screen. Love for a woman, a country, a dog - by kicking the living **** out of anybody who dares do those objects of his simplistic adoration wrong.” - Kurt Wimmer, commentary track for _Equilibrium_
