My son in law told me if I ever find anything from Gibson to buy it....I found a 1923 Gibson Mandolin in great shape no cracks or chips in the wood, It had the Gibson label inside with the date, style etc. He wanted 100 dollars but I got him down to 80.....Checked it out on Internet at Elders and they had one just it listed as sold for about 4000 dollars...It came with the original case. The label was inside, paper that had yellowed over the years and I don't remember all the numbers, except the date and I think the style was A.
I give my adult children a hundred dollars for their birthday so when I was offered 300 by my sisters boyfriend, I decided to give it to my SIL. His daughter has it and is self taught on the mandolin and plays great...

They bought her a new case for it but I warned them not to get rid of the old original case....best thing I ever got at a garage sale...

My main “AX” is a Gibson Les Paul. It is a magnificent Instrument.

Gibson Mandolins are rare and beautiful! You did well! :-)
