I had a can of Vienna Sausage and 10 crackers for lunch. That’s about 75 cents, it would cost me 40 cents to mail it to her for a net gain of 35 cents.

Why mail it to them? Just make the donation with your credit card (and let them pay the transaction fees). :=)
