I don’t think any assessment of the election is even close until we get the Israeli attack on Iran. It is likely to happen before the election. It will be as huge an event as the economic meltdown was in 2008.
R’s will not be able to attack Zero about his incompetent Iran policy for a couple of months after the event, just because Americans rally to the president in a foreign policy crisis.
If Zero does not obviously bumble the situation, R’s will be standing around helplessly, unable to address the political consequences of the event until after the election.
I write the PM of Israel fairly often and have been writing to him about not going to war until after Obama is out of office. I hope others will write to him about this and other things. You never know how much letters can do, especially if there are many saying the same thing. If we don’t try then nothing can be accomplished, but if we do try, we don’t know just how much good can come about. I also think it is good for them to understand that many Americans are not behind Obama, but are do stand for Israel.

Dear Prime Minister Netanyahu, Please do all you possibly can to hold off attacking Iran until after the November elections, or even better, after Obama is safely out of the office of the Presidency of the USA. Do not be provoked into attacking them before he is out, as I and many Americans think that he could very well use an attack as a reason to stay in office and put elections off.
