I have a prediction to make. A prognostication that, like any sensible prophet, I will stipulate to occur beyond my lifetime.
Hmm. Maybe not. I have no plans to go anywhere just yet.
Well, I’ll take a stab at it anyway. Within twenty years, (which theoretically allows it to arrive within my lifetime), we will have the equivalent of computer printers that produce ...
No, not food.
No, not body parts. (Heck, we have that now! Stop interrupting!)
,,, medicine.
...
You know, like pills and things. A computer printer that will lay down, layer by layer, the constituent parts of the medicines that you may individually require.
That should save some money, right?
Well, ahem, a certain industry is not going to be pleased about this.
If you think the recording industry is upset about people sharing music files, just think how the pharmaceutical industry will react to people being able to share medical blueprints.
Well, I’m sure they’ll work that out.
So, November 17th, 2029, look for the announcement.
Bet you a nickle that I’m right.
Bob, will it make little blue pills? If it will I have to make to at least 2050.
