A man from Chongqing in Southern China nearly suffocated to death after a romantic gesture to his girlfriend went wrong.
Mr Hu Seng had asked his friend to tape him into a box so he could ship himself via a courier service to his girlfriend, Li Wang.
However, the romantic gesture turned into a life-threatening event for Mr Hu when the courier company mixed up the address with another delivery.
The 30-minute wait turned into a three-hour ordeal for Mr Hu.
The material of the box was reportedly too thick for him to make any breathing holes while inside and he did not want to spoil the surprise by calling for attention.
When the box arrived at Li Wang's place, his friend was poised to record the event.
However, they found Mr Hu unconscious and looking pale upon opening the package.
Subsequently, paramedics were called over to her apartment to revive him.
He admitted, "I didn't realise it would take so long."
The courier company said they would not have accepted this delivery if they had known there was a person inside.
The spokesperson said that even for animals, a special container would be used so they can breathe properly.
I think it was the Killer Tomatoes in the neighbor’s yard that were trying to send him such information as to confuse him mightily. He would then be useful to them as a vehicle to subdue the other family members as they arrived.
You need to keep a close eye on the ‘Maters....
Parsley monsters.
Them, too. And then there are the kudzu vines...
Give Tiamat my best. I miss her and her bronze-age attitude!
We live in a very dangerous herbaceous zone. I blame Pat.
Speaking of whom, his Greek books arrived. Imagine his excitement at walking in the door yesterday to find a large, heavy box with his name on it!
I would imagine that my excitement at such an occurrence could be muted by observing the specific dimensions of such a box, and whether it had handles for carrying by multiple persons and so forth.
You know what I mean?
I am so glad the books got there! I hope you both enjoy them. I schlepped that large, heavy box over my shoulder all the way to the post orifice. What a deal! LOL!
Thank you all for your kind wishes on what was my birthday. The day started out rather bummed because I had to serve my remaining tenant a 3-day notice to pay or vacate. I also had to file against him in small claims court if I have a prayer of recovering what he owes me in back rent. My kind heart has gotten me in trouble before............ (sigh!) This time I have to do what I can to defend the one positive entry on my credit report before that goes south, too.
On the flip side, not only did you all come forth with love and support, I have spent hours counting my blessings and singing praises to the Creator in thanksgiving for: a roof over my head that does not leak, a furnace that works (yes, I had to turn it on - early), fresh, clean water to drink, family and friends who love me and pray for me and Mizuki-san, warm enduring memories of my beloved SIonnsar, and loads of reminders that God is in charge and all things work together for good to those who love him and are called according to his purpose.
As I write this, I am preparing to go back to prison for a Kairos reunion, to help the graduates on their path to spiritual maturity. Many have heard the Master’s call and are walking in light today. Glory!!!!!
To all of you who are holding fast without a glimpse of the promised land, stay focused on what you know to be true and live into your calling. Heaven is our destiny - this realm is the shadowlands.
Howdy. I just heard we may lose power. Yuck. We have supply’s and generator so that won’t be a issue. The fire isn’t coming our way they have been able to hold it. Yet it is going towards the power supply and that is now a issue.
I may have told you all we lost the phones 2 days ago and that won’t be fixed until ??? No mail until the road opens and that will be???
Not as smokey overnight. Hunters that came into town before they closed the road are hunting. Some one got a bull Elk yesterday morning. I know locals are hunting as well.
Would that you were here for a HUGH hug!
Bless you, Sister, for your faith and your courage. You are a shining example of endurance!
XOXOXO
Hang in there, honey. You are still in our prayers.
XOXOXO
Hiya!!!! I feel better now after talking with the fire people and a neighbor.
Of course if the wind picks bad it could change..
The phones should be working by tomorrow or Tues. Mail will be in soon. The road will be open 1 hour a day and for emergency’s. You can request a escort. I spoke to a neighbor that just came in with a escort. The road still has snags on it, and the drive is quite scary.
The fire has burnt past the main power source and have dug out trenches on the ones that is in the path of the fire.
I know my posts at time may seem like I am rambling, yet it has helped me deal with this a lot being able to post here.
It wouldn’t DARE snarl at Pat! It was full of Greece!
We’re all glad to know you’re safe! Maybe it will rain soon. We had a little here and it looks like there’s more to come.
Here's a delayed Birthday Cat. He's sad because he didn't have a real computer last week, so the cake is late!
I hope everything goes wonderfully during the prison retreat. Ash would be there if she could!
Pat will memorize it all, between ukulele practices and wildlife study.
And *yawn*, tomorrow starts another regular school week, with all the driving.
A box full of parsley monsters and kudzu would snarl.
Hurry up, peepel, The Woman Who Laughed and Swallowed A Knife thread is still ahead of us in number of posts!
