Man Nearly Died by Shipping Himself to Girlfriend (As a Romantic Gesture)
AsiaOne ^ | Tuesday, Sep 04, 2012

A man from Chongqing in Southern China nearly suffocated to death after a romantic gesture to his girlfriend went wrong.

Mr Hu Seng had asked his friend to tape him into a box so he could ship himself via a courier service to his girlfriend, Li Wang.

However, the romantic gesture turned into a life-threatening event for Mr Hu when the courier company mixed up the address with another delivery.

The 30-minute wait turned into a three-hour ordeal for Mr Hu.

The material of the box was reportedly too thick for him to make any breathing holes while inside and he did not want to spoil the surprise by calling for attention.

When the box arrived at Li Wang's place, his friend was poised to record the event.

However, they found Mr Hu unconscious and looking pale upon opening the package.

Subsequently, paramedics were called over to her apartment to revive him.

He admitted, "I didn't realise it would take so long."

The courier company said they would not have accepted this delivery if they had known there was a person inside.

The spokesperson said that even for animals, a special container would be used so they can breathe properly.

I am back in my town. Still the fire is burning. We are really smokey today.

They had some helicopters yesterday afternoon and airplanes fighting the fire. It was hot here yesterday afternoon and the fire picked up a bit.

20 was the low this morning.

I will update if things get worse. I surely will let you all know when the fire is under control. They had a date of Sept 30th for that.

Thanks you all for your kind words and thoughts during this fire.

Correct. We will go home tomorrow. I like my own house best. We won’t rent this place again. There’s nothing wrong with it, but it is not the right arrangement for us.

Did I mention I like being in my own house?

Cyber read this to me earlier. I laughed until my tummy hurt!!

All the cats will all be in here when it’s dark to get their different treats. Cyber always manages to be too sleepy, plus he doesn’t know which cat gets what and where. Have I spoiled them?

Here’s another story about Fred:

When the twins came to the door on Halloween two years ago, we bought them very light little beds. They used them for maybe two weeks, then got bored with them, but we saved the beds just in case, for what, I don’t know. We have them on top of each other with gazillion toys on the top one.

When Fred came in he was discovering things that would make his mother (me) work harder. He took all the toys out, then used the bottom bed as a turtle shell. He used a corner of the bed to see out and chased the other cats around the house. To this day, the other kittehs don’t quite trust him.

Lord help me!

It’s so nice to talk to you again...

That doesn’t look like a s’more. It looks like The Blob eating it’s way out of chocolate and graham crackers. LOL!

We got a small-dog bed for Jake, our large cat, a couple of years ago. He loved it until his Outdoor Event early this year, but after that, he didn’t want to sleep there. I put an old blanket in it, and he would lie there sometimes but didn’t really care for it.

Recently I noticed he was sleeping in the storage area under my sewing table, so I moved the blanket there. Then Shannon, the other cat, decided she likes the dog bed. Now the typical cat naptime has Shannon in the dog bed and Jake on the rocking chair.

I see things your way. Our now home is a place to which we would have traveled to have a vacation before we retired. I miss the family too much to “vacation” anywhere without them. Our solution was to buy a motorhome so that we could take the whole family with us. It was called a Funmover when we first rented it. We made an offer and bought it a few years ago. You can’t beat going on vacation and taking the whole family with you. I’m very happy that you, Kathleen and the rest of the clan enjoyed your vacation. However, there’s no place like home. (Where have we heard that before lol!?!)

Sometimes, when you get back from your vacation, you need a few days at home for a vacation before you go back to work!

Home, we are, and have cleaned up from Bill’s week with the pets. I shudder to think what it would have looked like if I hadn’t called him this morning to remind him we were returning, because it was pretty bad even with that. He had been shaving in front of the schoolroom computer, for reasons that escape me ...

But anyway, all the pets lived, I think. I’m sure Tom would have mentioned it if the gecko looked dead. And Bill sort of mowed the lawn.

Where you can collapse in your chair, and say, “I wish I had the energy to do what I have to do.”

“He had been shaving in front of the schoolroom computer, for reasons that escape me ...”

It was the mind control rays, or maybe it was aliens instructing him to do so.
Or maybe it was the catz.
