(AP) DETROIT When DC Comics decided to blow up its fabled universe and create a brave, diverse future, Geoff Johns drew from the past for a new character: his own background as an Arab-American.
The company's chief creative officer and writer of the re-launched "Green Lantern" series dreamed up Simon Baz, DC's most prominent Arab-American superhero and the first to wear a Green Lantern ring. The character and creator share Lebanese ancestry and hail from the Detroit area, which boasts one of the largest and oldest Arab communities in the United States.

Comics during the 80’s, 90’s, and early, 00’s were enjoyable to read. You got to read moral dilemmas and complex storylines.
Political correctness is killing the enjoyment one can get from comics.
Killing infidels wherever he finds them?
Taking sex slaves? Raping “fresh meat?”
Blowing up pizza shops full of Jews?
The storyline could go on FOREVER...
Hate to think about what he has in his utility belt.
The Phantom Stranger is being rebooted as Judas wearing Jesus’ cloak. Will the Muslim Green Lantern been prancing about in Mohammed’s booties?
Cool, in the middle of an epic decisive fight against the evil guy bent on world domination, the muslim super hero will exit the fight to bow down towards mecca or to cane some woman with her ankle showing
Correction:instead of a ring, he`s got a turbin?
The era of Chris Claremont (writer)/Xmen and Marc Silvestri (artist)/Wolverine is long gone. Now only the purest of propaganda remains. At least the Claremont Xmen’s ‘outsider stuff was something one could read many things into. Now? Nothing but Gay/PC/Islam BS in your face.
Storytelling is a lost art.
Baz is fortunate to be a Dearborn, Michigan Muslim. In traditional, majority-Muslim nations like Saudi Arabia, “sorcery” is punishable by death. I’m betting that wearing and using a potent magic ring qualifies.
Courage = Green
Fear = Yellow
Islamic Bloodlust = Red?
There are still a few of them. The Walking Dead, while not about super-heroes, is an excellent story and pulls no punches. I’m enjoying Deadpool kills the Marvel Universe right now also.
