I think if somebody came on my property and shot my dog I’d have a tought time restraining myself from shooting them, in uniform or not.

Too stupid to be sheriff, and too stupid to be a deputy.

There are several “get out of jail free” responses by government officials.
For cops, one of them is: “It was for my own safety”.

If that were my dog Spartanburg would have a couple of job openings in the very, very near future. Including one for Sheriff.

Unbelievable! Hot-headed law enforcement officer, kills tethered dog while trying to serve papers to a man who didn’t live at the house.... and the sheriff’s response is “Oops! So sorry.”
I hope the dog owner does take them court and I’m not usually for that sort of thing.

The letter carriers seem to be able to deal with dogs without snuffing them; why not cops?

This is the 3rd story today about cops shooting somebody’s dog in its own yard. And always the wrong yard.

Wonder what the police who love dogs and have K-9’s think about these pigs?

it's just a way of training officers to become desensitized to killing. Killing animals over and over again make it easier when the animal is on two legs and a "threat". Lots of little sociopaths with uniforms out there because we have a whole bunch of uniformed douche tards in the alphabet agencies at the local/state/federal level. My recent foray to Vegas allowed me to see TSA's finest with their little blue uniforms and epaulettes .
It's like a casting call for the Biggest Loser/Jerry Springer Show/Jersey Shore and Good Times all rolled into one. I look out at the horizon and I see a storm coming. Vote early, vote often and then keep yourself prepared.

Stories like this make it increasingly difficult for me to feel sympathy when cops get killed in the line of duty. It won’t be long until I’m cheering for the “bad” guys to win. I put bad guys in parenthesis because it seems these days cops aren’t that far removed from the criminals we pay them to apprehend.

Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright ... justified the shooting by saying that there was a chance the tether could have slipped off which would have resulted in Boutin being bitten. If that's the case then he should send his officers down to the Human Society, the APA, and all the animal shelters in the county, take some preemptive action, and shoot all the dogs. That will further reduce the risk of being bitten by a dog.

I wonder how many dobes I need on hand to subdue these pet murderers? I would think 3 should be able to stop one lunatic gunman.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday that it would not be pursuing disciplinary action against a deputy who fatally shot a tethered dog earlier this week. But, of course. Who really thinks cops have to follow the same rules as us? They are better than us. I have actually had them tell me that.

The man rushed outside to check on his 8-year-old shepherd mix, Diamond, who had been playing out front while tethered to the porch railing. Tethering isn't a good way to get a dog to play. It usually makes them mean and territorial instead.
