Wouldn’t bronze wool be better than steel wool?
Some people swear by Kroil or Eezox, but I have never tried either one.

It's a slightly used Rossi Model S121230S single shot 12 gauge with 3" chamber. 23" button rifled barrel with factory porting. Installed a hammer extension, scope base, Weaver quad rings, a cheap 3-9x40 Barksa scope, and a sling. All together I've got less than $275 in the rig.
I've bore sighted it with a laser but haven't had time to get it out to the range yet. I've read a number of stories of guys using this gun and Remington "AccuTip" sabot slugs to consistently bring deer down at more than 200 yards.
It's only September and I've already got buck fever!
The last photo is a little blurry. Was just trying to show the porting.

Sorry.

That should take down your average deer with no problem.
How heavy is it?

Can you use modern shotgun shells in a gun that age?

Yep, I bet some really fine bronze wool would do the trick, and not leave a trace of its’ use behind.

With the scope it’s about 8 lbs.
(Seems heavier than that when you pick it up.)

That is a very nice slug gun. I like it and would have bought it too.
As far as using modern shot shells in a 97, I did 35 years ago. And I’ve read 2 3/4 light load shells should be fine.
I doubt I’ll be shooting it anyway, I just want to fix it up real nice. Make my Grandpa proud.

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I was going to look for a used CZ75B when the gun show came to town. Well, it came! The only CZ75 I saw was a tactical version at about $1200, and I didn't even slow down as I walked by.
I had walked throught almost the whole gun show, and was about to give up, when I spotted a seller with a used CZ82, which of course is chambered in 9x18 Makarov. Long story short, it's now mine.
Fuzzy, cause I tried to get too close with a cheap camera! lol

I was out the door with the whole she-bang for $295. Bore is bright and beautiful. Slide is smooth. Very little external wear.

Deo, you got a heck of a sweet deal on the CZ.
The holster looks brand new too.

Yeah, when he was pulling everything together, and I saw a spare mag and the sweet looking holster, that sealed the deal!
Here's the first 10 rounds I ever fired from this little CZ. It took a little getting used to matching up "point of aim" with "point of impact", but I was getting better as I went along.
From 7 yards, offhand, with Fiocchi ball ammo.

You’re gonna love that CZ82.
As you’ve already learned, they are very easy to shoot and very accurate.

This was still from 7 yards, with a variety of ammo. The Fiocchi, some Hornady hollow points, and some Silver Bear. Believe it or not, most of the nine ring shots were with the Silver Bear. It ate all the ammo I fed it, with no failures of any kind.
