Former Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich appeared on Sunday to defend Missouri Republican Senate candidate Todd Akin, who has been pressured by Republicans to bow out of the race after saying that women dont get pregnant from legitimate rape.
I think Todd Akin is the choice of the people of Missouri. And Todd Aiken has publicly apologized, Gingrich said on NBCs Meet the Press. People make mistakes.
Gingrich said he is fed up with the one-sided bias that has Akin under fire for his comments but gives a pass to Vice President Joe Biden, who told an audience that included many black supporters that if Republicans win they will put them economically back in chains.

Newt the eternal warrior and defender of conservatism.
“Wheres the outrage over overt, deliberate racism? Gingrich asked. How come Biden shouldn’t get off the ticket?
Last week, Gingrichs former presidential campaign aide, Rick Tyler, joined the Akin campaign.
Karl Rove should be required to wear ankle monitors so that we know where he is at all times. Only then will conservatives feel safe in expressing their own opinions.
Mittens couldn’t run fast enough from Akin. Newt, on the other hand, stands on the front lines. That’s how you tell the difference between spineless politicians and real men.
Well, if anyone knows anything about women, it’s Newt.
Did he stand by Clint Eastwood?
Just because he smacks the idiot Rove around doesn’t mean he supports Akin. I do though. heh.
Did who stand by Eastwood?
Newt does stand with Akins. One of his staffers has been working on Akin’s campaign since last week. I stand with Akin too:)
Gingrich. I heard he didn’t at all, but I wasn’t watching his appearance(s) today.
As you know Newt isn’t my favorite person but I for one appreciate him standing up for what’s right in this case.
Newt confessed before God and the world. Newt apologized and he has been happily married to Calista for years. Rove has been married 3 times and last I heard he was called an atheist..who knows? he is a jerk for his comments on Akin and he is a paid mouthpiece for Fox and the republican party. He should be fired from Fox and reprimanded by the gop
I am glad to hear that cripplecreek:) and I know due to our numerous and intense primary battles.
You would think that what Akin said was the end of the world. A small gaff in a world going to shi! and stupid Republican jackasses still continue “The end of the world is near with what Akin said”. This guy is a good conservative and doesn’t deserve Republican crap but support.
Your tag fits you well. Logic was not used by the gop in Akin’s case. Yes, he is a good, strong conservative. Such an endangered species these days:)
“Gingrich. I heard he didnt at all, but I wasnt watching his appearance(s) today.”
I’m not sure what you are referencing. I have not heard of anything about Newt and Clint, pro or con. I wasn’t even aware Clint did something that required people to stand with him against the odds.
I’m with Newt on this one.
