Given how they selectively apply 'laws', even those that cannot legitimately be laws, yes.
Even when they weren't ultraviolent thugs-with-badges, you shouldn't talk to them w/o a lawyer... but now that they are actively pursuing military tactics against the general people with SWAT and no-knock raids (both generally instances of Rapid Dominance doctrine) as-a-group, and as individuals they display this brutality -- with little to no consequence (Costco shooting, Fast and furious, etc) then we are very much at their mercy... until, and unless, someone [we-as-a-society] smacks them down hard.
Yes, unless you luck out and someone has filmed your beating and puts it on youtube. Videos have a way of starting “internal investigations” with lots of press releases from the chief. Of course, soon to be followed by police charges of “wiretapping” to the camera person once the media hoopla dies down.
A friend of mine is a retired cop and he admitted to me that the longer he is out of the force, the more he dislikes cops. When he was in the club, he just rolled with the games they play. And based on his stories, we only see the tip of the iceberg.
