In a closed-door fundraiser at the Republican National Convention, Karl Rove reportedly joked about the murder of Missouri GOP Senate candidate Todd Akin.
We should sink Todd Akin. If hes found mysteriously murdered, dont look for my whereabouts! joked Rove, according to a Businessweek report of the fundraiser.
Sheelah Kolhatkar, an editor for Bloomberg Businessweek, was invited to the event as a guest of top Republican donor who was aware she was a journalist. The invite gave her a behind-the-scenes look at the otherwise-private event.
At the event, Rove urged attendees to urge Akin to get out of the race, citing Missouris Senate race as a major obstacle to Republicans taking over the Senate.
We have five people who are interested in replacing Akin as the Senate candidate, Rove said. We dont care who the nominee is, other than get Akin out.
Rove and other top Republicans called on Akin to leave the race after his controversial comments two weeks ago on legitimate rape and his mistaken comment about how conception through rape rarely occurs.

This is characterized as a joke, and it probably was intended that way, but it is in the context of GETTING RID OF TODD AKIN.
This is far worse than anything Todd Akin said.
Unbelievably Ignorant.

I have no idea why anyone pays attention to Rove. He won two presidential elections by the very skin of his teeth. He was disastrously wrong in 2006 and 2008. He actively worked to sabotage Conservative candidates in 2010. And know he does this bit of stupidity.
Rove is the Democrat Party's best ally.

all of the establishment is.
They saw in 2008 qne then 2010 that their power was under threat, they have worked so hard to take out any people who are socially and fscally conservaties, in their elitist party they only care about how much tax they pay and ot hell with conservatives.
Sarah, Col Allen West, where were they this week?
The elitist establishment have gone liberal on social issues and only want their ivy league lot in power.
To hell with the eltist north east, beltway establishment.
America is not the beltway or the north east or the west coast , we in the south and th emidwest and AK do not go along with their homosexual cross dressing, elitist ivy league thinking.
That goes for FOX too who seems to think NY City is America

Even though I strongly believe Rove to be a despicable hack, I also have to consider the source of this piece.
As long as we aren’t talking about the President committing Treason on a hot mike I’m sure Politico will be happy.

Not cool at all. Murder jokes, no matter who is the butt of them, are just not a good idea and are unseemly.

Maybe we should make Akin a FR project. Let's get him the Senate seat.
Rove sure has the delusions of grandeur.
Does anyone know anything about the Rove divorce, BTW? Is he a toe-sucker, does he like the DC hooker brigade? Does he sport teenage arm candy?
Sometimes this doughy little twerp really p^^^es me off.
