I just wandered in here on a break from doing a (please God, successful bid)-your new puppy is still not showing respect to the cat? Stubborn for sure...

Apparently, Mastiffs are the new dog-du-jour in this neighborhood-I was hiking in the woods this morning, and met a guy on the trail who was walking a gray, very friendly huge one. He said it is a Neopolitan Mastiff and only 8 months old-it already probably weighs almost as much as I do. That is the 4th Mastiff of some sort I’ve seen recently in this little neighborhood...

Gatsby is currently doing time in his crate for going after the cat again while I’m doing laundry and have the utility room open. I carried the cat out, growling the whole time, and he is perched in the baker’s rack amidst my plants in the other room. He is not convinced that Barky McAnnoying is safely ensconced.

“Barky McAnnoying”-LMAO! You have got to wonder what Gatsby thinks the cat really is-does he try to herd the cat like livestock, or murder him like prey?

Husky girl plays chase games very nicely with the cats-but she is outnumbered-I don’t know what she would do in a one-on-one match.

She does snarl very quietly if one of the cats sniffs at her treats-then gives me an innocent, surprised look when I say “stop that”. I guess she thinks I can’t hear the rumble, or see her nose wrinkling and teeth showing...

He wants to pounce on the cat, so I think it’s more like an evil attempt to hurt him. I wish Tobias would just smack him upside the muzzle one time, good and hard. I think that would settle things between them.
