These women looked great with their natural hair color, but for some reason every other gal today wants to be a “blonde”.

I'd settle for bottled blonde. Every other gal today wants to become a human pincushion pierced from head to toe and branded with a tramp stamp.

If you go onto the Library of Congress photo gallery web sit and look at the photos taken during the Depression, especially in the South, many of those photographed posed in their Sunday best, even those in Shotgun Shacks. Poor but with pride in family.
