Did your wife watch Ann Romney’s speech? what did she think? i was gagging a bit at first at the we-are-all-womens-together tenor, but i was texting with my best friend Paula, the ob-gyn, and as i am thinking geez this is hokey, Paula says She is tearing up over it. so then i thought, well i guess it’s effective then. She said she bonded with the whole woman-to-woman bit. Personally that gags the hell out of me. i do not identify based on gender EVER. But Paula’s career for the past 30+ yrs has been women’s health, so she does get off on that kind of thing. i had a text from another friend in FL who also loved Ann’s speech.

We haven’t watched one minute of the convention. I’ll probably watch Ryan and Romney. I’ve been more focused on trying to get my daughter back into a regular sleep pattern.

I started having that vague feeling that the woman bit was overdone, but Ann pulled it off with style. As she finished, I knew she had a winner. Amazing woman. Her speech came from the heart and she won over her audience.

Did you hear the “corporate wife” attack from a sullen Juan Williams? I think he knew she had a winner, too. I had to read about it as I had it on CSPAN.

Just as Chris Christie was being introduced, I had a squad call. Missed that one entirely.

Loved Mia Love, John Kasich, Artur Davis. There were a few boring ones early on, but that just highlighted Ann all the more.

I wasn't wowed by Ann's speech but it struck me as very genuine and that she wasn't professionally coached. It was easy for her to talk about how she loves and admires her husband and the faith she has in him. That was touching. And I liked her inclusion of the things she has suffered through, in spite of their current economic status.

My favorite tweet after her speech was the one who said ' Show me a CEO who'd switch jobs with a stay-at-home mother of five.'
