EAST LANSING (WWJ) - A Michigan State University student is recovering after he was beaten up and had his mouth stapled shut during what investigators are categorizing as a brutal hate crime.
Zachary Tennen, a 19-year-old sophomore in MSU’s journalism program, said he was at a house party on the 500 block of Spartan Avenue early Sunday morning when two men approached him and asked if he was Jewish. When he responded “Yes,” the two men raised their arms into a Nazi salute and said “Heil Hitler” before knocking him unconscious, according to Tennen’s mother, Tina.
About 20 people reportedly watched as the men proceeded to staple Zachary Tennen’s mouth shut at the lips and gums. His jaw was broken in two places during the attack.

Something very off about this whole deal. He's talking in the video, doesn't look like he's bad off at all. The staple - he said he found it between his teeth coming up from his gums once he woke up. This story stinks.

I’m thinkin’ there was a whole lot of alcohol involved in whatever actually happened. This story may change a lot in the next few days.

Look at the video compared to the graduation picture below it. This kid’s entire lower face is swollen.
A bunch of underage kids getting drunk at a house party who don't want to get busted by the cops.
A bunch of underage kids who grew up coddled and likely never experienced having their ass whipped or even having seen a bad ass whipping. My guess is that they were scared crapless.........
My initial thought is that the assailants are anarchists with a nazi leaning but I suspect they are just wannabe punks with a 12 pack of beer in their belly, cruising the area looking for a party to crash and somebody to beat up. I also don't believe for a second that they are members of the student community but rather locals with an axe to grind..........

Nobody took photos or video? 20 people just watched? I’m sorry but I don’t believe this.
As for the broken jaw, that sometimes happens when you get punched out........
And the staple? It certainly wasn't imbedded by a stapler, most likely it ended up there due to him doing something stupid like eating an object on a dare that happened to have a staple embedded in it.......
20 people and not one cellphone camera?
