I'm about Constitutional governance, not candidates or parties, so when I get donor solicitations, I send them back like this:

Fast forward to December 1971. Ann's marriage to Lolo has disintegrated. She leaves Jakarta and stays in a temporaray apt. in the bldg where Stan and Madelyn are living. B.O. Sr's marriage to Ruth in Africa has blown up. He's a drunk and keeps losing jobs. He borrows money from a "wealthy patron" and with his severance pay, flies to Hawaii, rents a temporary apt in the same bldg as Stan, Madelyn, Barak, and Ann. Both Ann and Sr stay just over a month with Sr supposedly begging Ann to come to Africa with him (never mind he's still married to both Kezia and Ruth while had has not divorced Lolo, yet). Not only does Ann continue glorify Sr to the boy and everyone else, she irons his shirts for him during this vacation!!! Into January, Ann goes back to Indonesia and Sr. returns to Ruth and his family.

I don't buy the part about Ann's marriage to Lolo disintegrating in 1971. He lived in Hawaii with Ann and baby Maya for an unspecified amount of time, but at least a year in 1973, while Obama lived with the grandparents (that had to be a slap in Obama's face). We know this because there's a 1973 tax return showing the Soetoros with a Honolulu address and Maya claimed as a dependent, but not Obama. The Soetoro marriage would have disintegrated sometime after that.

Many legal things going on at that time. Madelyn’s father Rolla Charles Payne had died in 68, it would have been about the time distribution of his will would have been completed. Madelyn was not just VP but the head of the Escrow/Trust department of the bank. After that meeting she became Jr. legal guardian ( and in charge of his trust—See schedule E of his income tax forms on WH site) Parents permission would have had to be given and signed.
SR is said to have worked in oil industry (there are no oil or gas well in HI) but sharing income from a wife’s trust is very possible.......RC Payne was not just a bookeeper anymore then the other grandfather was a goat hearder. Standard Oil as employer is suspect...think Kaiser-Frances, the same Tulsa company that owns a large share of Solyndra, IOW BhO II was not poor and struggling. His hoe in CHicago is in the name of a lawyer, very common when a trust buy property to avoid paying capital gains tax....BhO is a trust fund baby, the income from book is a magician trick, look over here, don’t look at my other assets kept in “various foreign banks”!!

It was disintegrating, but it took Ann years to finally file for divorce. Barry was a freshman at Occidental when Ann files for divorce from Lolo, but they had lived apart off and on for years. According to the papers her attorney filed, it had been more than 6 years and that he hadn't financially supported them since 1974.

After reading the book, I couldn't help concluding she didn't seem to want to be the mother of a son and palmed him off on her parents, but she alone raised the daughter.
