Would it be possible to instill in the delegates a sense of honor? Could they be persuaded to avoid bad behavior for the duration of the convention? For the greater good?

It is quite obvious that a lot of GOP 'luminaries' (be they Congress critters or other people in positions of influence/power) are NOT Fiscal Conservatives. That has been obvious for quite some time, to the extent that by the 1960s standards they are not just to the far-left of Democrats then but they are actually smack in Socialism-ville. It is just that they are to the right of current Democrats.

In short, it has been quite obvious that a good portion of the GOP influence/power-base is not Fiscally Conservative.\

This story just goes to show that they are also NOT Social Conservatives.

What a crock! So some reputed leader of an association that “represents” 4,000 “Gentlemen’s Clubs” spouts unverifiable stats and it is accepted as legitimate, no questions asked - including people on this thread. How is the figure of $150 vs. $50 arrived at? Are there polls conducted at the door when a convention arrives in town? If this is so legit then wouldn’t the numbers be something in the odd-numbered realm of $143 vs. $52.

This is just another example by CNN - the second in two days - of trying to paint Republican convention attendees as somehow “dirtier” than their Democrat counterparts with spurious “proof” from questionable sources using supposed stats that the most mathematically-inclined could understand the import.

And they say Republicans don’t care about single moms.

Republicans are likely to outspend Democrats heavily at topless bars and strip clubs

That's because so few Democrats, even among the vast majority with no class, are interested in women, topless or otherwise.

Would it be possible to instill in the delegates a sense of honor? Could they be persuaded to avoid bad behavior for the duration of the convention? For the greater good?

That one made me laugh. A sense of honor among the GOP-elite? I like your imagination, but the optimism is a little over the top.

Could it be that as a group Republicans have enough of a work ethic so they have more discretionary income for whatever they choose to do? Would restaurants not have the same experience?

Republican delegates should just assume that there are going to be a lot of people in Tampa conducting surveillance of Republicans, just hoping to get footage of identifiable Repubs going into strip bars. The Dem mayor also hopes that some Repub delegate gets arrested trying to get an escort girl.
