Its been pulling more an more westward, as I knew it would, because the GFS model, historically the more accurate, has been showing that for days now. Tampa will get, at worst, 30 mph winds and gusts, monday and tuesday rain, clearing up by wednesday.

That forecast is going to probably even get better as the day goes on and the storm tracks more westward.

You are right, New Orleans is my guess at this point.

As I’ve mentioned a couple of times earlier, if Isaac hits New Orleans, it will be the fourth storm in seven years to hit during the Southern Decadence (gay Mardi Gras) celebration. Southern Decadence was cancelled in 2005 due to Katrina, and again in 2008 due to Hurricane Gustav. In 2011, Tropical Storm Lee scared off many from outside of New Orleans traveling in for the weekend resulting in about 20% hotel cancellations.

When I last looked the lowest atmospheric pressure on the coast was Mississippi. These things are pulled to the lowest pressure.
