I don't agree with that.
As a parent you should already know what your child does and doesn't like after a few years. Preparing something they don't like for them is a waste of money as well as a creating unnecessary conflict.
You should use the "Oh, this is sooooo good!" routine on them when they're still young and forming opinions on food. Your good eating habits will be picked up by them in a positive way and they'll find far fewer foods distasteful.

Just my opinion.

I think that was the point I was making.

In the annals of bad parenting, I put broccoli in front of my daughter that hated it. She refused to eat it. I said to her, “but I thought it was your favorite food.” After a few minutes of argument, she decided that she loved broccoli. I guess I got my money’s worth out of my psych classes, which makes me want to buy a lot of tin foil and make hats.
