It’s stupid, not dangerous. Dangerous implies some level of permanent harm, not recoverable harm.
When I first read it, I assumed that salt and water were euphemisms for some drug.

Sounds like those idiots who used to rub erasers and make burns on their arms when I was growing up.Hell, we used to have dumb-asses put newly lit cigarettes between their folded arms and play chicken . . . to see who'd give in and unfold their arms first. All the idiots got was a life-time, painfull big scar for the rest of their lives.
