Even if your stupid Democrat Niece/Son/Whoever really doesn't want the "degenerates" put to death. They are still playing on the same Team as Hitler, Dr. Mengele, Stalin et al.
Remember what "Progressive" means, it slowing progress, one step at a time towards Communism, the quick ways Via the Nazi's and Bolsheviks, ends up with an utter rejection of them for several generations.
So they slowing progressing, but it too will fail, eventually they will either over step, or the State has become so fat, that it suffers a heart attack and dies and is picked over by it's Balkanized sects.
