Really brilliant to write a show that contains ever shifting actors as part of the script.
Amy Pond is still my favorite.
It my understanding that the original writers created the Doctor's "regeneration" in an act of desperation when the actor who played the first doctor retired unexpectedly in the middle of a season because of deteriorating health. The public bought it, and it's been used ever since. I remember watching the show back in the late 1970's when Tom Baker was the doctor, it was on PBS about midnight during their "British Programming Block" which consisted of Benny Hill, Monty Python and Dr. Who (Until I was a teenager I thought those where the only three shows on British TV!)
In the Season 7 episode list, Amy (Karen Gillan) is still listed as appearing in the first 5 episodes. Jenna-Louise Coleman doesn't start being listed until episode 10.
I watch the new series with my Amazon prime account. I just finished season 1 where Christopher Eccelston was replaced with David Tennant. Can’t say I have warmed up to the new Dr Who but I will continue to watch even though the first two episodes were horrible.
I fell head over heals for Amelia. Never really cared for other Who girls, or redheads for that matter, but she is something special. The actress is super cute to begin, and her portrayal of Amy is a marvelous mixture. Long live Amy Pond!
