Sorry, but wasn’t it just a couple of months ago that free pap smears went into effect? I remember my idiot liberal cousin bleating about it on Facebook.

Actually, it was August 1 that the mandate for insurance companies to cover birth control and cancer screenings for no co-pay kicked in.

That may be. I’m not sure, although I have seen a commercial where an elderly man says thanks to o-care screening he’ll be around for the birth of his grandchild. I always thought Medicare took care of screenings for the elderly. Guess not.

But he thing is, there are clinics that have offered free or reduced screenings for years - nothing to do with the zero or his o-care.

We have one in our community that has been operating for 12 years that was set up and is staffed by a group of retired and other physicians and nurses volunteering their “spare” time - not looking for any accolades. These people are heroes to me.
