Roger Clemens returning to baseball

HOUSTON (AP) -- Rogers Clemens has signed with the Sugar Land Skeeters of the independent Atlantic League and is expected to start for them on Saturday at home against Bridgeport.

The 50-year-old right-hander was acquitted in June of charges he lied to Congress when he denied using performance-enhancing drugs.

This guy is obsessed with getting into Cooperstown. His plan is definently to get back into shape and hopefully get picked up by an MLB team, so he can push back his HOF eligibility time further. His gamble is the further away from his cheating he can get, the better chance people will forgive him.

Sorry Roger, you just don’t learn from history. If you had just admitted you were juicing, fans would have been upset but it would have been forgotten soon enough. Go back and learn from Pete Rose for crying out loud.

Had he retired when his body was telling him to, he would already be in the Hall.

The work he did with the Red Sox was pretty much enough to do it. Seeing him pitch at Fenway in ‘86 was just amazing.

When Rickey Henderson could no longer get a major league club to sign him, he played for a team called the San Diego Surf Dawgs. He was 46 and his teammates were 23 or younger. I don’t think the team is still in existence so that isn’t an option for Roger.
