I used to use cakewalk and got results that I was very happy with. then my hard drive fried and I lost hundreds of hours of recordings. I have been thinking about putting together another dedicated computer system for recording again. In the mean time, I have lately been using an iPhone app called
4-tracks, which works very well for storing ideas. it's well worth the 5 bucks... if you have an iphone.
