I`ve heard it refered to as "fire honing" or the process of polishing out minor bore imperfections thru the use of a fine grit dusted, low powered projectile, discharged thru the firearm. Does anyone have more info on this process and where one could find supplies?
New barrel already chambered, crowned and profiled for the rifle, or a new custom barrel which you can fit to your new stock?
New barrels are indeed sold. There are new barrel blanks, which have to be profiled by a gunsmith from a straight profile (about 1.250” in diameter from end to end) to your taper and length. There are custom barrels that come with a pre-set contour according to the barrel makers’ contour charts, etc.
How much are you looking to spend, if I might ask?
