Apparently, we’re no longer allowed to make wise cracks about guilt or innocence based on the appearance of the defendant. Yesterday, there was a thread about a teacher being convicted (travesty of justice, by the way) of having sex with a couple of her students who were above the age of consent at the time. We were having a bit of fun with it as we always do when the The Church Lady showed up, became appalled that we could be permitted to act in such a manner on a “Christian site” and complained to JimRob directly. The thread got pulled. So watch your Ps and Qs, boys. Oh, not guilty!

“The thread got pulled.”

Yea, I was following that yesterday and shocked when it got pulled. It was a legitimate article, from a legitimate publication (New York Daily News, or something). Is our site turning Puritanical or something? The donations will take a dive if that’s the case.

And DEFINITELY Not Guilty.

...and yet another thread from the same story gets pulled this morning:

I guess my question to the mods is whether there’s a new rule at FR against posting these stories. From what I can tell, they are from a legitimate news organization (Fox News). If that’s the case, I’ll stay clear of those stories also.

This was the last posting that I got to see:

Another thread on this was pulled. I hope this one is, too.

This has nothing to do with their age.
She is under contract with the state of Texas to teach a school subject. Because of that, as we pay her salary, when she uses her role as teacher to have inappropriate personal relationships with certain of her students, she has violated a Texas law against doing that.

Go right ahead, argue that the state has no legal interest in the behavior of its paid and contracted-with teachers with their students. Argue that the penalty for doing such should be weak. I don’t care what your personal opinion is.

I write the reason for the law, so that people who aren’t DENSE can get the truth about it.
