A Hollywood bio I read had a paragraph about a young actor being told he got the part, but only if he slept with the director. He told his [gay] agent "I'm not gay." The agent retorted "You're an actor right? Act like you're gay."

It's kind of funny because the agent was also the first to represent (and name) Rock Hudson, and had to teach Hudson how not to be so effeminate in order to get past the first line of studio talent screeners.

The story I heard about Travolta is that he wasn’t born gay, but had to submit to the casting couch, and out of that guilt, became gay to rationalize what he was forced to do....I wouldn’t be surprised at all if that was the case.
